Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Norfolk, VA is hiring an Automotive Technician to perform preventive maintenance on our fleet, including oil changes, fluid services, tire changes, and basic repairs, following safety and quality standards.

You will work on newer vehicles across multiple brands, gain exposure to systems and technologies, and receive on-the-job training toward ASE certification. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and be able to lift up to 50 pounds; on-site work required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude or prior automotive maintenance experience.
• Comfortable in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels.
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry.
• Flexibility to work all shifts.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• On-site work required; remote work not possible.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on our vehicle fleet, including oil changes, fluid services, tire changes, rotations, and basic repairs.
• Assist senior technicians or take on maintenance tasks as skills grow.
• Work on a diverse fleet across multiple manufacturers, gaining exposure to various systems.
• Help reduce downtime and improve vehicle reliability to support a smooth rental experience.
