Job summary

Avports is seeking a Manager, Fleet & Asset Management to oversee the maintenance, readiness, and lifecycle of airport vehicles, ARFF apparatus, and other critical assets at Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN).

Based in New Haven, CT, this full-time, on-site role ensures safe, reliable operations around the clock as the airport expands. You will lead preventive maintenance, coordinate with vendors, manage records, and support budgeting and capital planning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of fleet management, heavy equipment maintenance, or related field.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical systems.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to meet credentialing and security requirements.
• Preferred: airport/aviation fleet or ARFF maintenance experience.
• Preferred: experience managing vendors and maintenance contracts.
• Preferred: ASE or equivalent certifications.
• Preferred: fleet or asset management software experience.
• Preferred: welding or fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance of airport fleet vehicles, ARFF equipment, and heavy assets.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and asset replacement.
• Coordinate with vendors, fuel providers, and service partners.
• Manage fleet records, compliance docs, inspections, and systems.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
• Ensure FAA, OSHA, DOT and airport safety compliance.
• Monitor performance and readiness of equipment.
• Support emergency response and severe weather operations.
