Job summary

Tower Extrusions, LLC. is hiring a Shuttle Driver to move trailers and products between two Wylie, TX plants. The role works closely with the shipping supervisor to coordinate transfers on flatbed and Conestoga trailers.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, secure loads, and ensure timely handoffs while adhering to DOT and company safety rules. Valid CDL A and a clean driving record are required, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Experience operating flatbed and/or Conestoga trailers preferred.
• Clean driving record is required.
• Ability to run short, local routes between two plant locations.
• Must be able to work required overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate flatbed and Conestoga trailers to transfer product and empty trailers between two Wylie plants.
• Coordinate pickup and drop-off timing with the shipping supervisor at each plant.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required paperwork.
• Secure loads properly with straps, corner protectors, and tarps as needed.
• Hook and unhook trailers for transfers between facilities.
• Communicate delays or issues to the shipping supervisor promptly.
• Follow DOT and company safety regulations on public roads between plants.
• Report equipment damage or maintenance issues immediately.
• Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the shipping supervisor or manager.

About the Role

Tower Extrusions, LLC. is a privately owned aluminum extrusion company that has been in business for over 40 years. We are hiring a Shuttle Driver to move trailers and product between our two Wylie, TX plants. This role works closely with the shipping supervisor at each location to coordinate trailer movement and keep material flowing between facilities on flatbed and Conestoga trailers.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate flatbed and Conestoga trailers to transfer product and empty trailers between Tower Extrusions' two Wylie, TX plants
• Coordinate pickup and drop-off timing with the shipping supervisor at each plant
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required paperwork
• Secure loads properly for transport between facilities, including straps, corner protectors, and tarps as needed
• Hook and unhook trailers as needed for each transfer
• Communicate delays, equipment issues, or scheduling conflicts to the shipping supervisor promptly
• Follow all DOT and company safety regulations while operating on public roads between plants
• Report any equipment damage or maintenance issues immediately
• Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the shipping supervisor or manager

Requirements
