Keith Day Company, Inc. is seeking a reliable Flatbed Driver to join our team in California. You will operate a Class A tractor-trailer, securely load flatbed materials, and ensure timely deliveries while maintaining safety and professional communication with customers and dispatch.

The ideal candidate has a valid Class A CDL, a clean driving record, DOT medical card, and experience with load securement and DOT regulations. Full-time position with benefits and potential overtime.

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Flatbed Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating Class A commercial vehicles and hauling flatbed loads. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, proper load securement, and timely deliveries while maintaining professional communication with customers and dispatch.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle with a flatbed trailer.
• Transport and deliver materials to customers and job site locations according to scheduled routes.
• Properly secure loads using chains, straps, binders, and other required securement equipment.
• Tarp and untarp loads when required.
• Inspect loads throughout transport to ensure materials remain properly secured.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections.
• Complete driver logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and other required documentation in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Report mechanical issues, accidents, safety concerns, or delays promptly.Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Current DOT medical certification.
• Clean driving record.
• Flatbed driving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of proper load securement procedures.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb in and out of the truck multiple times per day.
• Ability to lift, pull, and handle up to 50 pounds when necessary.
• Ability to handle chains, straps, binders, and tarps.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Capable of performing routine vehicle and load inspections.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Class A CDL driving experience.
• Previous flatbed hauling experience.
• Experience securing different types of materials and loads.
• Experience delivering to jobsites, agricultural locations, or similar environments is a plus.

Work Schedule

• Full-time
• Overtime may be available or required.
• Occasional weekends may be required based on business needs.
