William A. Hazel, Inc. seeks an experienced Flatbed Driver to join our Northern Virginia operations with occasional work into West Virginia. The role reports to the Yard Foreman and focuses on safe, compliant transport of materials using flatbed equipment.

You will operate a Class A truck, secure loads, and coordinate with field personnel. Must have CDL, be authorized to work in the U.S., and be willing to work early mornings and weekends as project needs demand.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL in good standing.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• 1–3 years of flatbed driving experience.
• Experience securing and transporting oversized or heavy loads.
• Current DOT medical certification.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service.
• Work safely around active construction sites and heavy equipment.
• Strong communication and dependable attendance.
• Willing to work early mornings, overtime, and weekends.
• Complete pre-employment screening including background check.
• Preferred: Doubles/Triples, Tanker, or Hazmat endorsements.
• Experience operating a boom truck is a plus.
• Familiarity with local job sites and routing restrictions.

William A. Hazel, Inc., a total site development contractor with more than 60 years of experience, is seeking an experienced Flatbed Driver to join our team.

The Flatbed Driver reports to and works under the direction of the Yard Foreman. William A. Hazel, Inc. operates throughout Northern Virginia, with occasional work extending into West Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle and flatbed equipment
• Properly inspect, secure, transport, and unload materials and equipment
• Follow applicable DOT regulations, company safety procedures, and load securement requirements
• Communicate effectively with the Yard Foreman and project personnel
• Maintain a safe and professional work environment
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in good standing
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• 1–3 years of flatbed driving experience; construction industry experience preferred
• Experience safely securing and transporting oversized, irregular, or heavy loads, including heavy equipment, steel, and lumber
• Current DOT medical certification
• Working knowledge of applicable DOT regulations, load securement requirements, and hours-of-service regulations
• Ability to work safely around active construction sites, heavy equipment, and machinery
• Strong communication skills and dependable attendance
• Ability to work early mornings, occasional overtime, and weekends as project needs require
• Ability to successfully complete the company’s applicable pre-employment screening requirements, including a background check
• Preferred but not mandatory:
  • Endorsements: Doubles/Triples, Tanker, or Hazmat (a plus, not required)
  • Experience operating a boom truck
  • Familiarity with local job sites, material suppliers, and permitting/route restrictions

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb in/out of cab and onto flatbed to secure loads
