Job summary

Gateway Toyota in Toms River, NJ is seeking a Flat Rate Technician to diagnose and repair vehicle systems in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards. You will perform inspections, troubleshoot, and complete repairs efficiently while maintaining safety and quality, communicating with the Service Advisor, and documenting all work on the repair order.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and two years of related experience; ASE certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections, troubleshooting, and testing to determine repairs.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair engine, mechanical, and electrical systems as required.
• Ensure vehicle safety and quality of repairs; conduct test drives as needed.
• Communicate with Service Advisor/Dispatcher for additional work.
• Write work orders, document repairs, and keep customers informed.
• Inventory, stock parts, and maintain a clean, organized shop area.
• Uphold ethics, attendance, and confidentiality; adhere to timekeeping rules.
