General Job Description

Crew Member supports the crew leader in the performance of lawn maintenance routines and the management of all resources including crew members to deliver exceptional leadership and service. Start time is 6:25am.

Pay: $15/hr

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assists Crew Leader/Assistant Crew Leader with maintaining crew free of any alcohol or drug use in company vehicles, equipment and jobsites or any other locations during working hours.
2. Assists Crew Leader/Assistant Crew Leader with keeping truck, trailer and all other equipment locked up to prevent theft.
3. Assists Crew Leader/Assistant Crew Leader with crew to ensure machine guards/safety are always in place and functional on all equipment while in use.
4. Performs weekly maintenance of mower blade exchanges, and or any other routine maintenance required on lawn maintenance equipment.
5. Performs mowing, trimming and edging turf areas using riding mower, push mower, weed eater and edger.
6. Pulls weeds, removes thatch, trims and edges around flower beds, walks, pathways, and walls. Blows off sidewalk and parking lot areas or any other areas directed by crew leader.
7. Raises trees and side trims encroachments as needed.
8. Assists Crew Leader/Assistant Crew Leaders with or performs and monitors all fueling operations of trucks and equipment after every working day. Must make sure the right fuels are used, and spills are prevented or cleaned up quickly with the proper materials.
9. Shares responsibility with Crew/Assistant Leaders for emptying the truck of trash and debris daily. Ensuring all bagged trash is put in container not mixed in green debris pile.
10. Shares responsibility with Crew/Assistant Leaders to ensure all rakes, trash bags, trash cans, hand tools, along with all other tools needed are loaded on truck and trailer and ready for next working day.
11. Shares responsibility with Crew/Assistant Leaders keeping truck, trailer, mowers, and equipment clean and free of garbage and debris. This includes weekly truck washing.
12. Performs Junior Crew Leader role as needed.

Minor Duties and Responsibilities

1. Working towards obtaining a class E license within 3 to 6 months of hire date.

Qualifications for the Job

1. Able to work in outside working environment, wherein there are potentially hazardous working conditions and life-threatening situations exist (moving mechanical parts, electrical sources, fumes, airborne particles, etc.).
2. Proficient in the use of mowers, trimmers, edger, line trimmer, blowers, and other equipment operation and maintenance.
3. Able to work in extreme heat or cold.
4. Able to work in extremely loud areas.
5. Able to lift and carry heavy loads.
6. Ability to perform strenuous work all day including carrying debris, dragging tree branches, and operating other equipment.
7. Enjoys working outdoors year-round.
8. Desire to learn advanced landscaping skills.

Education: High School Graduate

Experience: 2 Years commercial side
