Job summary

Free People is seeking a fixture and furniture designer to craft new fixtures and floorplans for retail and wholesale spaces. You will work with Store Design, Merchandising, and Operations to deliver thoughtful package solutions that reflect the brand aesthetic.

Leverage SketchUp and CAD skills, manage vendor calendars, and present concepts to brand leadership. Strong collaboration and hands-on fabrication experience are valued for this role.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Free People brand aesthetic.
• Understanding of materials, fabrication, and manufacturing techniques for furniture and fixtures.
• 3+ years of experience in fixture or furniture design.
• Proficient in SketchUp and CAD.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Some hands-on fabrication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop new fixtures and floorplans for retail and wholesale divisions.
• Collaborate with Store Design and Store Operations teams to create floor plans for new and current stores.
• Create fixture packages for apparel and accessory categories based on business needs.
• Collaborate with merchandising teams to update current fixture packages.
• Partner with domestic and international vendors to execute designs and value engineer as needed.
• Execute trade show layouts, showroom fixtures, and floorplans with wholesale teams.
• Create development calendars to keep vendors on track for sample delivery dates.
• Track expenses and invoices from initial ideas through final approved samples.
• Customize fixtures for unique spaces with store design and retail teams.
• Present new ideas and concepts to brand executives.
