Job summary

AV Gauge is seeking a motivated shop laborer to support fixture preparation and final assembly processes. Under supervision, you will measure, cut, and finish metal details, operate basic hand and power tools, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Candidates should have at least 1 year in a machine shop or manufacturing setting, be comfortable reading blueprints, and able to use calipers and micrometers. This is a permanent, full-time role at our Kentucky facility.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience operating machine shop equipment (Bridgeport mill, lathe, grinder, tumbler).
• Ability to utilize measurement instruments (caliper, micrometer, gauge block).
• Ability to read basic blueprints.
• Manufacturing assembly setting work experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with check fixtures, jigs and gauges is an asset.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Secure, measure and cut raw metal stock to prescribed sizes
• Square up metal blocks
• Clean Black Oxide from details
• Remove sharp edges on details through de-burring
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools to shape work piece to prescribed finish
• Keep a clean and organized work station
• Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines and company policies
• Other general labor duties, as required

Summary:

Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the incumbent will prepare various fixture details and components for the final Assembly process.

Job Terms:

Permanent, Full Time, 40+ hours per week

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Secure, measure and cut raw metal stock to prescribed sizes
• Square up metal blocks
• Clean Black Oxide from details
