DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fixed Utility Financial Analyst Trainee within the PUC's Bureau of Technical Utility Services (TUS), you will assist experienced analysts in reviewing financial data submitted by regulated utilities for a variety of transactions. You will also assist in the preparation of complex analyses and prepare written reports, detailing conclusions and recommendations resulting from financial review.

As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to be part of a passionate group dedicated to the regulation of Pennsylvania's jurisdictional utilities. The work done by the FUFA Trainee plays a key role in our everyday lives, especially because we all benefit from the use of our utilities' resources every day! Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: Part-time work from home (telework) may be a potential feature of this position. The successful candidate is required to report to the headquarters worksite daily unless the employee meets eligibility requirements and telework has been approved. Management may discontinue any telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
  • To be eligible to participate in telework, the employee's alternate (telework) worksite must meet the following requirements:
    • Within a reasonable travel distance of Harrisburg; and
    • Within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree with major course work in accounting, economics, finance, or business administration, which included or is supplemented by 15 credit hours in finance related coursework.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
