Job summary

Fisher Investments is seeking a passionate fixed income professional to join our research team in Plano, TX. The role supports the Investment Policy Committee by aligning bond strategies with macro forecasts and communicating insights to internal clients and our largest, most sophisticated clients.

You will examine holdings, generate ideas, and translate market events into actionable recommendations while contributing to the development of investment themes and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years evaluating different types of bonds (Corporate, Municipal, Asset-backed and Sovereign).
• Experience supporting client service and sales efforts.
• Ability to express probabilities clearly from multiple possibilities.
• Experience testing and improving current processes.
• Ability to translate current events into tangible recommendations.
• Experience using data to derive insights.

Responsibilities

• Examine current and potential holdings and identify bonds likely to outperform benchmarks using top-down macro views.
• Support the Investment Policy Committee with performance commentary and by generating investment ideas.
• Interpret market events to understand impact on forward relative returns and develop portfolio themes.
• Develop a deep knowledge of Fisher Investments’ philosophy, process, and portfolio themes.
• Suggest and implement output, process and system upgrades to boost team productivity.

Job description

We are seeking a passionate fixed income professional interested in playing a critical role in the investment decision making process. The ideal candidate is highly engaged, and eager to contribute beyond their seat - collaborating with peers to generate investment ideas and expand the fixed income platform.

The Opportunity:

As a Research Analyst covering Fixed Income at Fisher Investments, you will support the Investment Policy Committee by ensuring our bond strategies represent our macro investment forecasts and themes. Your understanding of bond markets and enthusiasm for development will propel you in this position and open opportunities for advancement. In this highly impactful role, you will communicate your expertise and insights to internal clients and to the firm's largest, most sophisticated clients and prospects, via client meetings and written/visual deliverables.

The Day-to-Day:

• Examine current and potential holdings and identify bonds likely to outperform selected benchmarks, incorporating our top-down macroeconomic views
• Support our Investment Policy Committee through performance commentary, by generating investment ideas, and reviewing existing trends and reports on bond holdings
• Use knowledge of bond categories to understand how market events impact forward relative returns and develop our portfolio themes and views
• Develop a comprehensive knowledge of our investment philosophy, process, portfolio themes and rationales
• Suggest and implement output, process and system upgrades to enhance team productivity and influence

Your Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience evaluating different types of bonds (Corporate, Municipal, Asset-backed and Sovereign)
• Experience supporting client service and sales efforts
• Offer concise, cogent statements of probability from a diverse selection of possibilities
• Experience testing and improving current processes
• Experience interpreting current events into tangible recommendations
• Experience with data to find fact-based insights
