Job summary

Mesirow in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Sales Assistant on the IS&T team to provide administrative and sales support to the Managing Director and SVP of Fixed Income Capital Markets in our Chicago office.

Responsibilities include processing trade tickets, account setup, data entry, reports, and coordinating with Operations and Margin, along with supporting the sales desk and back office to resolve settlement issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
• Series 7 and 63 preferred or ability to obtain upon joining the company.
• Fixed income experience highly desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data correlation.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and maintain filing of customer credit documents, trade tickets, reports, and new account forms.
• Enter bonds data, manual trade tickets and spreads.
• Coordinate with Operations on cash trade specifics and with Margin/Cashiering/TBA Clearing groups.
• Assist with settlement issue resolution with internal operations and clients’ back office.
• Handle new account setup forms and follow up for required information.
• Collaborate with sales and trading support to ensure settlement of transactions.
• Answer questions and resolve issues to ensure proper client service.
• Assist with general office tasks and special projects as needed.
