Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking an Analyst to join the Fixed Income Controllership team within ISG Finance to provide financial analysis and business performance metrics for senior management decision making.

The role supports management reporting across ISG, WM & IM, P&L and balance sheet reporting, with exposure to end-to-end product oversight including Wealth Management products. 0-2 years’ experience is typical for this entry-level position.

  • Perform month-end analysis and review of books vs. reported differences, SEC revenue classification and material items for senior management communication.
  • Partner with global controllers to consolidate quarter-end due-diligence deliverables for Fixed Income Division.
  • Support Fixed Income COOs and Controllers with expense-related questions.
  • Participate in monthly/quarterly meetings with Fixed Income BU to provide transparency on expense variances.

We’re seeking an Analyst to join our Fixed Income Controllership team within ISG Finance to provide financial analysis and business performance metrics to support senior management decision making.

In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm’s financial and capital resources. This is an Analyst level position within the Product Controllers job family which specializes in ensuring adequacy of controls, profit and loss, and balance sheet reporting, and reconciliations for a segment / business / product area. Includes management reporting across the business segments (ISG, WM & IM) and cross-functional roles with end-to-end product oversight, including Wealth Management products.

What you’ll do in the role:
  • Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
  • Develop an understanding of Finance functional area, tools and processes
  • Responsible for tasks to support team deliverables, with guidance, and appropriately elevate issues to ensure timely and effective resolution
  • Adhere to the Firm’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls
  • Uphold the Firm’s values and hold yourself accountable to Firm standards
  • You will produce internal management reporting for all Fixed Income businesses globally, including the review of the consolidated daily revenues reporting, oversight of the preparation of the weekly Management Committee Report (MCR) report, balance sheet analytics and daily P&L sign-off metrics
  • You will perform month-end analysis and review of the books vs. reported differences, SEC revenue classification and material items that require communication with senior Finance and Business Unit management
  • You will partner with global controllers to consolidate the quarter end due diligence deliverables for Fixed Income Division
  • You will support the Fixed Income business unit COOs and Controllers for expense-related questions

Salary range for the position: $58,000 - $62,000/ Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
