Job summary

The City of Chicago, through the Chicago Department of Aviation, seeks a Financial Analyst to perform complex financial analysis of fiscal/cost data for City programs and services in a fixed assets capacity.

The role requires maintaining asset registers, performing depreciation calculations, and supporting audits while coordinating with engineering and capital projects teams. This is a full-time on-site position in Chicago.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a directly related field.
• One year of work experience in analysis of financial records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a fixed Asset register for CDA through CityWorks and transmit it to DOF.
• Record additions, transfers, retirements and disposals; ensure proper capitalization per policy.
• Calculate depreciation post GASB No 34.
• Track CWIP for capital projects and coordinate capitalization upon completion.
• Support ACFR fixed asset footnotes and schedules.
• Coordinate with Engineering/Capital Projects for proper cost classifications.
• Conduct periodic physical inventory of fixed assets and reconcile for insurance.
• Support external audits and state oversight agencies.
• Assist with lease accounting under GASB 87 and GASB 96 arrangements.
