Summary/Objectives

The FIU Analyst/Conduct will assist with FIU functions such as analysis, investigation, and disposition of alerts from the bank’s automated surveillance software, complete case investigations, and prepare SAR filings. The role includes case management, project implementation, and other tasks assigned by the Chief BSA Officer.

Essential Functions
  1. Analyze accounts for fraudulent or suspicious activity using reports and alerts from the surveillance system.
  2. Conduct investigations to identify fraudulent transactions and determine if regulatory reporting is needed.
  3. Interview witnesses/suspects and document notes.
  4. Perform forensic research, including review of surveillance footage, to determine root cause and assess risk.
  5. Process alerts by deciding to clear or escalate based on analysis.
  6. Communicate findings with management and suggest improvements to systems or procedures.
  7. Collaborate with InfoSec to understand fraud mechanisms.
  8. Work with law enforcement as necessary.
  9. Document findings in case management system to ensure compliance.
  10. Report CDD/EDD deficiencies during account monitoring.
  11. Maintain proficiency in BSA/AML compliance and fraud trends; attend training as assigned.
  12. Follow all bank policies, including confidentiality and ethics.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • CAMS and/or CAFP certifications required or willingness to obtain within two years.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Fraud and/or BSA/AML in a financial institution, with significant experience in SAR completion.
  • Strong communication, detail orientation, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Training and Additional Skills
  • Annual online training and FIU/financial crimes training.
  • Additional training in systems/software like PC Navigator, Verafin, Excel, etc.
Other Details
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
  • Shift from 10 am to 7 pm ET.
  • Physical ability to sit/stand for long periods and interpret information on screens.
  • Travel may be required.
Compensation

Expected salary range in Colorado: $48,647 - $77,710, based on skills and experience.
