Job description

Join to apply for the Fitter/Welder - Weekend Shift role at Arcosa Inc.

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is seeking a Fitter/Welder for our plant in Ft. Worth, TX. As a Fitter/Welder, you will use jigs and fixtures to lay out pieces according to blueprints, schematics, or work orders, then set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment. You will perform MIG welding on structural steel and other metals to produce utility structures while adhering to safety protocols.

Work Schedule: 36 hours paid for 40 hours, Fri-Sun, 4:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety practices and rules.
  • Lay out and cut complex subassemblies or final products.
  • Perform final and multi-pass welds.
  • Position pieces into jigs and fixtures using measuring tools and hand tools.
  • Maintain records and participate in safety initiatives.
  • Assist in training new employees as needed.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of relevant welding experience or completed weld training.
  • Experience with Flux or Metal Core welding preferred.
  • Ability to measure accurately within tolerances preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing transmission poles or similar products is a plus.
  • Dependability, teamwork, and a positive attitude are essential.
