thyssenkrupp Polysius North America, Inc. seeks a first-shift fitter & welder in Milwaukee, WI to assemble machinery frames and related fabrications from flat plate and structural shapes.

You will read engineering drawings, weld with flux-core and submerged-arc processes, and work with mild and stainless steel up to 5 inches thick. Potential candidates should have a high school diploma or GED with 2 years of welding-related experience, be safety-minded, punctual, and able to work with others in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years related experience or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing welding environment.
• Submerged arc welding and flux-core welding experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings including geometric tolerances.
• Safety-conscious with PPE compliance.

Responsibilities

• Layout, fitting, welding, and cleaning of components to create finished weldments.
• Flux core and submerged arc welding.
• Self-inspection of work.
• Operate cranes, forklifts, man-lifts, and hand tools safely.
• Follow PPE and safety procedures.
• Interface with coworkers in a manufacturing setting.
• Duties may change; other duties as needed.
