Job summary

Race Rock Group seeks a skilled welding supervisor to lead weld preparation, welding, and finishing operations in our Colorado facility. You will ensure product quality aligns with drawings and specifications, mentor welders, and maximize productivity.

The role requires FCAW 1G testing, 3+ years flux-core welding, strong ability to read blueprints, and effective supervision of a team in a fast-paced environment with safety as a priority.

Responsibilities

• Understand fixturing and welding setup parameters (amps, volts).
• Lay out, position, and secure parts according to specifications with standard tools.
• In-process inspection of fit-up and/or welding.
• Maintain safe and clean work areas.
• Manage employees to meet man hours and productivity targets.
• Minimize employee wait times to maximize department efficiency.
• Ensure supervised employees have required training and certifications.
• Communicate with other departments regarding production schedules.
• Assist with checking TCP daily to ensure correct job and labor codes.
• Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reports to Production supervision. Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 1. Plan, assign, supervise and review work performed by their assigned employees.
• 2. Proficient in company welding techniques.
• 3. Interpretation of drawings, including weld requirement symbology.
• 4. Working knowledge of fixturing and welding set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
• 5. Lay out, positions, secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and measuring tape, along with other tools needed to perform the job.
• 6. In process inspection of fit-up and or welding.
• 7. Maintain work areas to meet Safety and Housekeeping standards.
• 8. Manage employees to meet man hours given for types of products being worked.
• 9. Minimize employee wait times to maximize department productivity.
• 10. Ensure employees supervised have required documented training, certifications and/or qualifications required for their assigned job tasks.
• 11. Communication with other departments regarding production schedules.
• 12. Assists with checking TCP daily ensuring their employees are clocked into the correct job and or labor code.
• 13. Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Successful completion of an internal FCAW welding test 1G.
• Three-years flux core welding experience

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
• Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 75 pounds.
• Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and includes the use of protective equipment.
