Our business is growing, and we're looking for great people to grow with us. We're immediately seeking a Fitter Welder I-III to join our Northwest Pipe team in St. Louis, MO.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Experienced Welder with possible skills in Subarc (SAW), with experience inShielded Metal Arc Welding (SWAW) andFlux Core (FCAW) preferred.
  • Fitting experience preferred.
  • Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, or stand for extended periods of time inside a pipe.
  • Able to work at heights.
  • Skilled in fitting-up steel pieces for welding fixtures and jigs. Ensures proper alignment and dimensional specifications of every fit.
  • Weld or tack parts into various sub-assemblies or complete assemblies.
  • Experience using an Overhead Crane to move product from one location to another.
  • Knowledgeable of welding technology, equipment types, applications, and material characteristics.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and properly apply to pipe sizes.
  • Must be able to use hand grinders and other misc. hand tools.
  • Team Player with Leadership skills and abilities.

·Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

·Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

·Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

·Certificate from college or technical school; or five-seven years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.

·On the job training by other fitters who have experience, knowledge, and insight into the job. Qualified by performance.

·Small Forklift
