Job Summary

Safely erects and fits together equipment and materials for asphalt plant construction and related components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist in building asphalt plant equipment and components by safely fitting and welding metal parts with quality focus.
  2. Demonstrate ability to properly weld using GMAW and FCAW processes.
  3. Inspect metal prior to welding for quality and produce welds with minimal finishing required.
  4. Set welding machine parameters appropriately for each task.
  5. Follow PPE requirements for welding, including protective gear.
  6. Adhere to safety rules and procedures at all times.
  7. Work overtime, including weekends, as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Proven ability to weld safely and effectively using GMAW and FCAW.
  • Ability to read and interpret weld symbols on technical drawings.
  • Experience with crane and forklift operation.
  • Ability to pass a welding skills test.
  • Knowledge of fit-up procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Additional Requirements
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret instructions in various formats.
  • Physical ability to handle physical demands, including lifting over 49 pounds, and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work in shop and outdoor environments, with exposure to noise, weather, and mechanical hazards.
