Join to apply for the Fitter/Welder- 2ND SHIFT 4:00PM-2:30AM role at Arcosa Inc.

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is seeking a Fitter/Welder for our plant in Ft. Worth, TX. The role involves using jigs and fixtures to lay out pieces for welding based on blueprints, schematics, or work orders. You will set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, primarily MIG welding structural steel and metals for utility structures, following safety protocols.

Meyer Utility Structures specializes in designing and fabricating concrete, lattice, and tubular steel and concrete structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications. With over sixty years of experience, Meyer has contributed to industry standards and specifications.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 4pm-2:30am, with Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities
  1. Follow all safety practices and rules.
  2. Lay out and cut complex subassemblies or final products.
  3. Perform final welds and multi-pass welds.
  4. Position pieces into jigs and fixtures using measuring tools.
  5. Maintain accurate records.
  6. Participate in safety initiatives.
  7. Assist in training other employees as needed.
Qualifications
  1. At least 1 year of relevant welding experience or successful completion of weld training.
  2. Experience with flux or metal core welding preferred.
  3. Ability to measure accurately within tolerances preferred.
  4. Ability to read blueprints and schematics preferred.
  5. Experience in manufacturing transmission poles or related products is a plus.
  6. Dependability, positive attitude, and teamwork skills.
