Job summary

M&M Talent Group is seeking experienced Fitters for a busy metal fabrication shop in Houston. The ideal candidate will fit and assemble structural steel, plate, and fabricated components from engineering drawings while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, laying out and assembling parts, measuring and marking to spec, tack welding as needed, and operating grinders, saws, torches and power tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as structural or industrial fitter.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and weld symbols.
• Experience fitting carbon steel, stainless steel, and heavy plate preferred.
• Accurate use of measuring tools and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols.
• Lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel, plate, piping, and fabricated components.
• Measure, mark, cut, and align materials per specifications.
• Perform tack welding to secure assemblies.

• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols.
• Lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel, plate, piping, and fabricated components.
• Measure, mark, cut, and align materials according to specifications.
• Perform tack welding as needed to secure assemblies prior to final welding.
• Operate fabrication equipment including grinders, saws, torches, and other hand and power tools.
• Verify dimensions using tape measures, squares, levels, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ensure all fabricated components meet quality standards and customer specifications.
• Work closely with welders, supervisors, and quality personnel to complete projects on schedule.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all company safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Structural or Industrial Fitter.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and weld symbols.
• Strong knowledge of fitting, layout, and fabrication techniques.
• Experience fitting carbon steel, stainless steel, and heavy plate is preferred.
• Ability to use measuring tools accurately.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in a fabrication shop environment for extended periods.
• Must be able to work in varying temperatures and around industrial equipment.
