Job Summary And Qualifications

Role Summary: The Fitness Trainer leads exercise sessions for individuals and groups of participants. The individual or group may be heterogeneous, including individuals with different fitness levels, medical concerns and ages, or homogenous, with individuals who have similar characteristics such as arthritis, frail and elderly, or pregnancy.

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Education: High school diploma or GED, must be 18 years of age or older.
• Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, community health, or exercise physiology.
• Required License: Certification as a personal trainer by a nationally accredited organization and/ or specialty fitness certification.
• Preferred Experience: 100 hours of experience as personal trainer or group exercise instructor in an organized, specialized recreation or commercial fitness program.
