Job Summary

The Fitness Trainer will be responsible for leading the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing simple workout programs and instructing them on proper equipment use.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Conduct and manage the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and adhering to the schedule.
2. Consult with members about their fitness goals and instruct them on safe and proper equipment use.
3. Create bi-weekly exercise updates featuring a variety of routines.
4. Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
5. Assist with front desk activities such as:
   • Answering phones courteously and assisting callers with inquiries.
   • Checking members into the system.
   • Signing up new members.
   • Guiding prospective members on tours.
6. Respond to member questions and concerns professionally and promptly, escalating issues to the Assistant Manager or Manager when necessary.

• Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to interact positively and professionally with members and staff, exceeding expectations.
• Strong listening skills, empathy, and problem-solving abilities.
• Diplomacy and appropriate behavior in all interactions.
• Current CPR certification.
• Nationally recognized training certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Demands

• Continuous standing and walking during shifts.
• Continuous talking in person or on the phone.
• Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional exposure to toxic chemicals during shifts.
