Job Title: Trainer

Reports to: Club Manager

Status: Full Time/Non-Supervisor/Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing simple workout programs and instructing them on proper equipment use.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct and manage the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and adhering to the schedule.
• Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on safe and proper equipment use.
• Develop creative strategies to promote PE@PF class sign-ups.
• Create bi-weekly exercise updates.
• Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
• Assist with front desk activities, including answering phones, checking members in, signing up new members, giving tours, and updating member information.
• Respond to member questions and concerns professionally and promptly, escalating issues to Team Lead, MIT, or Club Manager as needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the club.

Minimum Qualifications

• Punctuality and reliability
• Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to interact positively with members and staff
• Strong listening skills, empathy, and problem-solving abilities
• Completion of fitness trainer certification

Physical Demands

• Standing and walking for at least 75% of the shift
• Talking in person or on the phone for at least 75% of the shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. less than 30% of the time
