Job Title: Trainer
Reports to: Club Manager
Status: Full Time/Non-Supervisor/Non-Exempt
Job Summary
Responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing simple workout programs and instructing them on proper equipment use.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct and manage the PE@PF program, including creating and following schedules.
- Consult with members on their fitness goals and instruct on safe equipment use.
- Develop creative methods to promote PE@PF class sign-ups.
- Create bi-weekly exercise updates.
- Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
- Assist at the front desk with activities such as:
- Answering phones and assisting callers
- Checking members in
- Signing up new members
- Touring potential members
- Updating member accounts
- Respond to member questions and concerns professionally, escalating as needed.
- Help maintain club cleanliness and appearance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Honesty and strong work ethic
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Passion for fitness and health
- Punctuality and reliability
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Good listening, empathy, and problem-solving abilities
- Diplomacy in interactions, appropriate behavior and language
- Completed fitness trainer certification
Physical Demands
- Standing and walking at least 75% of the shift
- Talking in person or on the phone at least 75% of the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs less than 30% of the time
