Position Summary:The Fitness Studio Attendant will be responsible for greeting members, monitoring the Fitness Studio, Walking/Jogging Track, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and maintaining fitness equipment. This is a part-time position that reports to the Recreation SupervisorCurrently looking to fill mid-day shift from 11:45-3:30pm. Based on years of service and hours workedRecreational BenefitsFitness Studio / Open Gym membership -Employee OnlyPool Pass for Employee OnlyDiscounts on recreation programs & Facility rentals – Employee OnlyDiscounts on golf greens fees & cart rentals - Employee & immediate familyDiscounts on Pro Shop Purchases – Employee OnlyOne hour bay time – Employee only (1 per day)Discounts on food purchases at Salt Creek Golf Club and 390 Golf Experience – Employee OnlyImmediate family is defined as spouse & dependent children – no extended family includedEssential Job Functions:Supervise Fitness Studio and Walking/Running Track.Greet all patrons and staff who enter the facility in a respectful manner.Enforce Fitness Studio rules and regulations.Refer members to Personal Trainers for questions on equipment or training sessions.Report any concerns regarding the Fitness Studio, track, locker rooms, members, policies, general facility, washer/dryer, etc. to the Recreation SupervisorCommunicate with the Recreation Supervisor daily regarding any issues that may have arisen during scheduled shifts.Maintain good rapport with members and provide exceptional customer service.Perform Fitness Studio and Walking Track cleaning duties, including vacuuming, wiping down machines, surfaces, and windows, launder towels, and organizing equipmentComplete all daily shift reports as required.Follow district and departmental safety, personnel, and administrative policies, procedures, and ordinances.Attend scheduled staff training and meetings.Adhere to dress code.Assist Recreation Supervisors with various projects and assignments.Open and/or close the facility, depending on the shift.Maintain knowledge of the Fitness Studio, Personal Training Packages, and Fitness classes.Distribute flyers or other information to participants when required.Communicate with other park district staff members, verbal and written.Other duties as assigned by the Recreation SupervisorRequirements / Qualifications:Must be 18 years of age or olderHigh School Diploma or equivalent.First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or willingness to become certified within two months of employment.General knowledge of fitness.Prior work experience in a fitness facility preferred but not requiredKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Excellent customer serviceExcellent communication skillsBasic knowledge of the Recreation Complex procedures so that information can be given to members when necessary.Ability to operate simple machinery.Ability to work independently, to be self-motivated, and maintain professionalism at all times.Remain visible and accessibleWork Environment and Physical Demands:Requires flexibility of work schedule which may include mornings, nights, and weekendsRequires occasional lifting of heavy objects weighing up to 45 pounds.Subject to various chemicals (cleaning agents)
