Job description

FOX is seeking a top-caliber Fitness Specialist to join our growing team in the Westport, CT area, between two of our senior living communities. Start your career today and join our fight to abolish ageism.

This position is a part-time/new role, helping to build our fitness program.

Working Monday - Friday with 1:1s & Small Groups.

Founded in 1998, FOX was the FIRST private practice in the country to provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population. Our focus is on restoring quality of life through evidence-based therapy with innovative and proactive treatments.

The Fitness Specialist Opportunity entails:
  1. Patient continuity: Patients are prescribed exercise programs to maintain functional levels after discharge from rehabilitation services.
  2. Excellent support system: FOX provides significant support through leadership, clinical education, and an assigned Program Manager.

Requirements:
  • Must have one of the following: Bachelor's in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Exercise Physiology; Certified Personal Trainer (e.g., ACSM, NSCA, NASM, ACE, ISSA) preferred, or prior experience as a fitness trainer with willingness to become certified.
  • Routine travel to patient residences and between senior living communities.
  • Expand territory as needed.
  • Travel as required by practice needs.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Previous experience working with older adults in a proactive wellness setting is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
