Overview

Position: Fitness Specialist / Personal Trainer

Location: Morgantown, WV

Type of Employment: Per Diem/PRN Hours are not guaranteed

Schedule: Weekdays/Weekends (Hours Vary)

Compensation: Starting at $14/hr pending experience

The Fitness & Sports Performance Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing exercise programs for clients and patients, providing instruction on specific exercise techniques, methods, and training curriculum. This position consults with therapists and physicians to assist with full recovery of participants requiring rehabilitative therapy. The role involves marketing and networking within the assigned territory to grow Wellness & Sports Medicine program services.

Select Medical Corporation's Outpatient Division is a nationally prominent, locally driven provider of outpatient physical rehabilitation with nearly 1800 locations across 37 states and the District of Columbia. Our clinical team offers preventative and rehabilitative services aimed at maximizing functionality and well-being. We develop individualized treatment plans to help patients achieve their goals. Our local network enables effective partnerships with physicians, employers, payers, and case managers to ensure optimal, cost-effective patient outcomes. We also serve professional sports teams, colleges, universities, and high schools with physical therapy and athletic training services.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct wellness and fitness consultations, assessments, and screenings.
  2. Develop individualized programs ensuring client satisfaction, safety, and the achievement of rehabilitative, health, and fitness goals.
  3. Provide leadership and motivation to help clients/patients reach their health objectives.
  4. Instruct clients/patients one-on-one through personalized fitness programs.
  5. Lead group sessions both on and off-site.
  6. Tailor programs based on clients' goals, physical capabilities, or restrictions.
  7. Perform sports medicine assessments with corrective exercise programs (e.g., Dorsi-Vi, Fusionetics).
  8. Collaborate with Sports Medicine teams to promote injury prevention and athletic performance through seminars, events, and demonstrations.
  9. Participate in marketing and community outreach activities related to wellness programs.
  10. Assist with the Cardiac Rehab program, monitoring vitals such as blood pressure, oxygen levels, and pulse rates.
  11. Support Active Care Retail Sales by monitoring inventory and instructing clients on equipment use.
  12. Ensure the safety and maintenance of gym equipment and the facility environment.
  13. Complete quality assurance and outcome documentation accurately.
  14. Maintain up-to-date training certifications and provide documentation.
  15. Report equipment issues or client concerns to the Center Manager.
  16. Provide services within budgetary constraints as directed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED; Degree in Exercise Physiology / Exercise Science
  • Preferred: Personal Training Certification
