Job summary

A leading company in rehabilitation services is seeking a qualified Fitness Specialist to provide essential exercise programs for older adults in the Easton/Bethlehem area. This full-time role offers significant support and a chance to make a real difference in patients' lives through proactive wellness strategies. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field or be a Certified Personal Trainer and should be willing to travel between patient residences and senior living communities.

Qualifications

  • Must have Bachelor's in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Exercise Physiology.
  • Prefer certification from ACSM, NSCA, NASM, ACE, ISSA.
  • Experience working with older adults in wellness preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prescribe exercise programs for maintaining functional levels after discharge.
  • Support from leadership and clinical education is provided.

Founded in 1998, FOX was the FIRST private practice in the country to provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population. Helping patients restore the quality of life they deserve and desire, our focus is the rehabilitation of lives delivered through evidence-based therapy with innovative and proactive treatment.

The Fitness Specialist opportunity entails the following:
  1. Patient continuity: Patients are prescribed exercise programs to maintain functional levels after discharge from rehabilitation services.
  2. Excellent support system: FOX provides significant support for our Fitness Specialists through leadership, clinical education, and an assigned Program Manager.

Requirements:
  • Must have one of the following: Bachelor's in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Exercise Physiology; Certified Personal Trainer through a nationally recognized and accredited organization preferred (e.g., ACSM, NSCA, NASM, ACE, ISSA); or prior experience as a fitness trainer, with willingness to become a Certified Personal Trainer.
  • Routine travel to patient residences and between Senior Living Communities.
  • Expand territory as needed.
  • Travel as needed per practice requirements.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Previous experience working with older adults in a proactive and wellness setting preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
