Job summary

Dexter Wellness Center is seeking a part-time Fitness Specialist to provide professional fitness services with high customer service toward members and guests. The role involves supervising the fitness floor, performing assessments, scheduling appointments, and delivering personalized exercise guidance.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in a health-related field, CPR/AED certification within 90 days, and an NCCA-accredited certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health-related field is required.
  • CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Nationally recognized NCCA accredited certification is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide fitness floor supervision and basic exercise instruction for members and guests.
  • Screen health history information and coordinate medical clearance where applicable.
  • Schedule and perform fitness assessments, orientations, and follow-up appointments.
  • Explain assessment results and give exercise guidelines and program recommendations.
  • Respond to medical emergencies as first responder and document incidents.
