Certified Athletic Trainer/ATC Hourly Pay Range: $31.25- $36.06/hr Location: Everett, WA

Position Description

A Work-Fit Fitness Specialist is responsible for supporting current Work-Fit customers to exceed customer expectations by collaborating on the planning, organizing, communicating, developing, delivering, and measuring of Work-Fit services. A Fitness Specialist will contribute to the advancement of Work-Fit’s quality and compliance to support service growth and excellence.

Health & Fitness Delivery
  • Oversee employee usage of fitness facilities.
    • Comprehensive membership operations and processes, badging process/creation and security access management and control
    • Provide supportive and motivating environment for employees, establish, and maintain relationships.
    • See that participants are properly oriented to the facility, rules and guidelines, and use of equipment.
    • Oversee facility usage to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of participants.
    • Onsite, employee-facing orientations, program designs, 1:1 service, health guidance, program referrals and assistance with subject matter expertise and quality service delivery
    • Be available for participant questions, concerns, and suggestions.
    • Enforce rules on equipment usage etiquette, safety, and hygiene.
    • Evaluate market trends and employee feedback to continually broaden physical activity programs and offerings through tournaments, challenges, engagements, events, and workout programs.
  • Oversee group exercise instruction.
    • Monitor instructor preparation and punctuality.
    • Facilitate instructor success (e.g., room scheduling, equipment availability).
    • Audit classes to verify exercise appropriateness and participant safety.
    • Invite participant feedback on classes and instructors.
    • Communicate class availability, schedule, and changes.
    • Contribute to group exercise instruction as approved. Preferred class offerings include Cycle, Yoga, Core, Bootcamp, Zumba, Strength, Pilates and Stretching.
    • Maintain appropriate certifications, where applicable (group fitness, coaching, personal training, AED/CPR/First Aid)
  • Maintain equipment and inventory.
    • Perform regular equipment checks and ensure that equipment is in good working order.
    • Initiation and follow through of all facility tickets and requests (leaks, electrical, outages, A/V, damages, etc.)
    • Schedule equipment maintenance and escort suppliers within the facility.
    • Report equipment maintenance and replacement needs to the Client Program Manager.
    • Complete annual capital inventory and submit as instructed.
    • Collaboration, relationship building and coordination with site services, facilities, housekeeping and janitorial teams
  • Monitor facility maintenance and safety.
    • Perform regular facility walk-throughs - checking for equipment and facility issues that need attention.
    • Identify and mitigate hazards and report issues to the Client Program Manager.
    • Manage supplies inventory and ordering.
  • Be prepared for emergencies.
    • Perform first-aid kit and AED checks to ensure availability and proper function.
    • Carry out regular drills in emergency scenarios.
    • Verify that emergency instructions are posted (address, phone numbers).
  • Well Being Delivery
    • Ad-hoc WBD support, as determined by PM and site WB staff.
General Work-Fit Position duties:
Policy and Procedures
  1. Maintains a safe, secure, and professional work environment by communicating and enforcing policies, procedures, and the expectations for the Work-Fit Employee Code of Conduct.
  2. Ensures quality service by collaborating with site Leadership to understand, teach and enforce Work-Fit and Client organization Policy and Procedures.
  3. Maintains and understands the Work-Fit and Client agreed upon Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Manual(s) which defines the delivery of service at the specified client site(s).
  4. Collaborates to advance SOP practices for continued quality and professional practice compliance.
Business Planning
  1. Assists the Team Leader and/or Regional Lead with establishing strategic goals that match Work-Fit services and resources to the needs of the customer.
  2. Assists with identifying and evaluating trends to create a unified vision to deliver Work‑Fit services.
  3. Completes assignments from the Team Leader and/or Regional Lead to meet the strategic goals of the Program.
Program Measurement
  1. Ensures that all Work-Fit service interactions are documented in the Work-Fit and client (if applicable) record management database (s) in accordance with all Work-Fit record management policies and quality practices.
  2. Conducts quality reviews of record management practices and implements action plans to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  3. Assists the Team Leader and/or Regional Lead in the development and review of Work-Fit scorecard(s) within the agreed upon guidelines with Client Leadership.
Professional Development
  1. Remains current with all policies, credentialing and laws governing professional practice.
  2. Advances professional and technical knowledge by completing educational workshops, obtaining advanced certifications, completing virtual courses, reviewing professional publications, establishing strategic networks, collaborating with other professionals, and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.
Delivery of Work-Fit Services
  1. Makes health personal through the delivery of the agreed upon Scope of Services to the customer in accordance with the SOP.
  2. Assists in the establishment of Best Practice sharing and implementation practices throughout Work-Fit.
Customer Relations
  1. Integrates with the customer and participates in client meetings and on client committees as delegated by the Team Leader and/or Regional Lead.
Program Marketing
  1. Assists the Team Leader and/or Regional Lead in the development of a marketing plan for the integration and advancement of Work‑Fit services.
  2. Develops and delivers marketing materials and presentations.
  3. Creates a culture of proactivity and personal health responsibility through the development, distribution, delivery and posting of educational materials utilizing available client distribution/posting resources.
Facility/Office Management
  1. Ensures that the security of sensitive records (hard copy and computerized) is always maintained.
  2. Maintains a work area that is neat, clean, and organized.
  3. Maintains safe, clean, and neat areas for the delivery of Work-Fit services.
  4. Maintains office equipment in safe working order.
Additional Duties and Projects as Assigned
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a Work-Fit/Customer specified health field such as Exercise Physiology, Fitness, or Health/Wellness, from an accredited college or university.
  2. Maintain CPR/AED certification.
  3. 3 years of professional experience in a specified health field
  4. Effective written (including proper grammar and spelling) and oral communication skills with individuals as well as group settings.
  5. Ability to manage time to ensure all duties and responsibilities are met on a daily and weekly basis.
  6. Ability to work without direct supervision.
  7. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to conduct on-line research.
  8. Proficient with use of electronic recordkeeping database and client databases (as applicable to each Program).
  9. Comfortable in the delivery of service in various work environments such as manufacturing, warehousing, office, and outdoors.
  10. Maintain a consistent and flexible schedule to meet the needs of the Work-Fit Team and Work-Fit customers.
