Position Title: Fitness Specialist

Location: Kishwaukee Health and Wellness Center

Type: Part Time ($16.00/hour)

Managed by Power Wellness Management, a pioneer in medical fitness industry, we focus on customized medical fitness center development and management, allowing clients to focus on other areas of their business.

The Fitness Specialist provides professional fitness services with high customer service standards to members and guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide fitness floor supervision and basic exercise instruction for members, guests, and program participants.
2. Screen health history information and coordinate medical clearance processes as needed.
3. Schedule and conduct fitness assessments, orientations, and follow-up appointments following protocols.
4. Explain fitness assessment results, provide exercise guidelines, and recommend programs based on individual goals.
5. Respond promptly to medical emergencies, bringing AED and first aid supplies, and complete incident reports.
6. Promote and sell ancillary services such as personal training, medically integrated programs, wellness coaching, and nutrition services.
7. Stay informed about all events and activities within the center.
8. Perform facility rounds every 30-60 minutes, monitoring pools, locker rooms, and fitness areas.
9. Handle opening and closing procedures on scheduled days, including weekends and holidays.
10. Maintain cleanliness of fitness areas and equipment, inspect and report maintenance needs, and remove equipment from service if necessary.
11. Lift up to 45 pounds.
12. Be flexible with hours and appointment scheduling to accommodate members and prospects.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in health-related field, exercise science, kinesiology, or physical education from a 4-year college or university.
• Prior part-time work or internship in the fitness industry preferred.
• CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness).
• Nationally recognized NCCA-accredited certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; positive, service-oriented attitude.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain professionalism.
• Proficient computer skills.
