Job summary

The City of Eden Prairie seeks a Recreation Supervisor Fitness to oversee all fitness programs at the Eden Prairie Community Center. You will lead a management team, ensure exceptional customer service, and align programs with community needs.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 2+ years of experience, CPR/First Aid within the first year, and ability to manage staff and budgets while coordinating with city partners. Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience is required.
• Minimum of two years of providing work direction is required.
• Minimum of one year of direct supervisory experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications obtained within the first year of employment are required.
• Experience using registration, league scheduling and/or facility scheduling software (RecTrac or similar) is preferred.
• Experience with computer technology is required.
• Physical activity is moderate for the majority of the work with lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Pre-employment processes include reference checks, background check, work history verification and education verification.

Responsibilities

• Directs the operations of all fitness programs in the Community Center and leads the fitness team.
• Develops, implements, and adjusts programs and marketing initiatives based on community needs to increase usage and service quality.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises part-time staff and volunteers; provides training on memberships, program registration, and transactions.
• Develops policies and budgets to ensure consistency, safety, and structured programs within the fitness area.
• Prepares reports for city commissions and council to build partnerships with stakeholders.
• Supports events and programs by organizing projects and leading initiatives as part of the Parks and Recreation team.
