Job summary

Beacon Health System's BH&F wellness team seeks a fitness professional to implement programming and consult with members on exercise plans. You will run assessments, tailor prescriptions, and supervise instruction to ensure safe, effective training across the BH&F facilities.

Responsibilities include presenting classes, supporting retention, and coordinating with the Fitness Coordinator and Manager for programs and events. Requires CSCS/ACSM and AFAA certification within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or health-related field with coursework in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology and Anatomy.
• CSCS or ACSM certification is required within 90 days of employment.
• Within one year of employment, AFAA Group Exercise Instructor certification is required.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and motivational skills to engage members.
• Strong customer service skills to support BH&F members.

Responsibilities

• Consult with members regarding exercise programs and needs.
• Administer fitness assessments (e.g., sub-maximal stress test, body composition, flexibility, strength) for evaluation.
• Provide clear answers to member questions about fitness and training.
• Conduct regular follow-ups on biometric data and exercise programs.
• Demonstrate proper exercise form on BH&F equipment for new and existing members.
• Prepare individualized exercise prescriptions based on collected data.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or health-related field with coursework in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology and Anatomy

CSCS or ACSM certification

Group Exercise Instructor certification (AFAA) within 1 year

Excellent interpersonal & motivational skills

Strong customer service orientation
