Fitness Membership Coordinator/Instructor
The Membership Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the St Pete Raymond James Fitness Centers to include but not limited to organizing and executing fitness initiatives, challenges, and programs, while cleaning and maintaining the facilities. If you are passionate about health and fitness, then this job is for you! This is an on-site position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maximize participation through motivation and educational components building rapport with members.
- Monitor the fitness room to ensure members are using the equipment properly and offer information on safe and proper exercises.
- Teach small group exercise classes: Must have a related certification from a nationally recognized organization (NASM, ACE, NSCA, AFAA).
- Support firm-wide fitness programs, sports series, and challenges.
- Register associates through membership software and support retention.
- Initiate daily promotion of personal training, onsite health clinics, and all wellness related opportunities.
- Record/report on membership statistics and activity to project manager.
- Maintain the Fitness Center ensuring the room is clean and organized.
- Report any issues or incidents directly to the fitness supervisor.
- Integrate the mission of Raymond James and follow the core values and culture into the healthy living aspect of job.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Must possess knowledge of fitness and wellness aspects.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both composition and verbally.
- Strong organizational skills required to balance a variety of tasks with a high degree of competence and accuracy.
- Requires ability and experience to use computer for word processing, e-mail, and internet.
- CPR/First Aid Certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Must have physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform the job.
- Must be able to lift 45lbs.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Optional instructor classes or personal training offerings with valid certifications: Nationally recognized organizations (NASM, ACE, NSCA, AFAA).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, preferably with courses in Recreation, Exercise Physiology, Health, or related field.
- 1 years of related work experience.
- Experience teaching health/wellness and group fitness classes preferred.
- Personal Training experience and knowledge preferred.
WORK HOURS:
- Part-Time Non-Exempt. Up to 10 hours/week. Variable schedule.
