The Fitness Manager will ensure members receive high-quality service and facilities, as well as lead, motivate, and manage their team. This role will focus on achieving financial targets outlined in the annual budget by motivating, leading, supervising, and coordinating activities of staff serving our members’ needs.
Reports To: General Manager
Experience Requirements
- 4-year college degree preferred or related business experience.
- 3-5+ years management experience required.
- 2+ years of sales experience required.
- Nationally recognized personal trainer certification is preferred.
- AED/CPR certification is preferred.

Professional Responsibilities
Personal Training
- Achieve personal training revenue, set/show/close sessions, and meet session burn goals.
- Integrate Personal Training services into sales presentations to maximize assessments and package sales.
- Manage revenue activities like complimentary workouts, supplement booths, seminars, and workshops.
- Handle client billing and programs.
- Manage peak and non-peak training hours, small group, and one-on-one sessions.
- Conduct new member fitness assessments.
Operations
- Coordinate with club support functions such as Fitness, Sales, Marketing, Accounting, and IT.
- Resolve member complaints tactfully following procedures.
- Maintain a professional, welcoming atmosphere.
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and security standards are met.
- Oversee maintenance, signage, and checklists.
- Manage expenses, payroll, and administrative costs.
- Stay informed about competitors and perform brand reviews.
- Communicate policies effectively to staff.
Sales
- Achieve revenue goals across membership, training, and retail.
- Monitor check-ins to increase revenue and reduce collections.
- Prospect new members continuously.
- Ensure staff knowledge of programs and facilities.
- Conduct regular staff training and meetings.
- Increase revenue per member.
Compensation
- Salary and commissions/bonuses based on business drivers like sales, sessions, and revenue goals.
