Job summary

In-Shape Fitness in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Fitness Manager to lead the Training experience and drive culture, member results, and revenue through supervising Personal Trainers. You will collaborate with leadership to deliver an outstanding member experience and achieve club goals.

The role requires a college degree in business/retail/hospitality, a current PT certification, and MS Office proficiency, with weekend availability and a strong focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• College degree in business, retail or hospitality preferred.
• Current Personal Training certification from an approved program required plus 1 year fitness/retail management experience.
• Four year or advanced degree may be submitted in lieu of PT certificate.
• Additional coursework in physical education, nutrition, physiology, and exercise science is beneficial.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays if needed.
• Strong service orientation and desire to deliver outstanding member experience.
• Computer literate – MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Word.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication.
• Outstanding organization and time management.
• Professionalism, cooperation, and teamwork.
• CPR/AED certification required within first 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversees fitness sales, revenue, promotional activities, and general administration to drive the business.
• Builds a community of members through a consistent member experience.
• Maintains member retention by calling 30-50 members daily.
• Manages department budget and meets financial targets.
• Conducts weekly audits of PT agreements and tracks sales and scheduling.
• Produces reports on club fitness metrics and budgets.
• Gathers member feedback to ensure Trainers deliver a positive experience.
• Delivers Club Personal Training goals including revenue and retention.
• Ensures PT team is aligned with club goals and focused on excellence.
• Builds community connections to increase session frequency and retention.
• Meets personal PT sales and sessions targets and controls payroll budgets.
• Leads by example and mentors hiring, onboarding, and training of Trainers.
• Ensures staffing adequately supports PT targets; career pathways discussed.
• Manages performance expectations and provides coaching.
• Observes and guides Trainers to ensure high-quality member experiences.
• Conducts weekly meetings to review performance and provide direction.
• Engages with prospective members providing information with professionalism.
• Upholds company standards ensuring a clean, safe, welcoming club.
