Job Summary

The Fitness Instructor will be responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing simple workout programs and instructing them on the proper use of equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Conduct and manage the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and following the schedule.
2. Consult with members regarding their fitness history, medical conditions, and fitness goals, as well as instructing them on proper and safe equipment use.
3. Create bi-weekly updates with a variety of exercises.
4. Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
5. Assist with front desk activities, including:
   • Answering phones in a friendly manner and assisting callers with questions.
   • Checking members into the system.
   • Signing up new members.
   • Taking prospective members on tours.

• Respond to member questions and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to the Assistant Manager or Manager as needed.
• Help maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the club.

Qualifications/Requirements

• A passion for fitness and health.
• Upbeat and positive attitude.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to interact positively and professionally with members and co-workers, exceeding expectations.
• Strong listening skills, with empathy and problem-solving abilities.
• Diplomacy in all interactions, using appropriate behavior and language.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Nationally Certified Training Certificate.
• High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Demands

• Continuous standing and walking during shifts.
• Continuous talking in person or on the phone during shifts.
• Occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs.
