Job summary

The Arlington Heights Park District seeks a certified Mat Pilates Instructor to lead mat Pilates classes, building strength, flexibility, and confidence. The role starts November 7 and currently offers Saturdays 11:00 AM–12:00 PM (about 1 hour per week), with potential for additional weekday hours as the program grows.

• Current Mat Pilates certification required.
• CPR and AED certification required within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Create safe, effective, and fun mat Pilates workouts for participants.
• Prepare lesson plans, select exercises, and set up equipment for each class.
• Take attendance and maintain organized class rosters.
• Demonstrate proper technique and provide modifications for different fitness levels.
• Ensure participant safety and report incidents as needed.

JOB SPECIFIC INFORMATION

• Prepares lesson plans and selects exercises to meet program objectives
• Select and set up required materials and equipment for each class
• Plans routines, chooses music and selects movements for muscle groups
• Demonstrates proper breathing techniques during physical activity
• Takes attendance, welcomes participants, and maintains accurate class lists
• Provides varied exercises to accommodate different fitness levels
• Ensures participant safety and notifies management of serious incidents
• Puts away materials and maintains a clean, organized environment

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Create safe, effective, and fun workout experiences that encourage member participation and retention
• Demonstrate proper movement techniques and provide modifications when needed
• Arrive prepared with music, routines, and class equipment set up before each session

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
