Job description

Fitness Instructor - In Person - PRN

STGi is seeking qualified candidates for a Health Fitness Instructor position supporting our Wellness and Health Promotion Services contract with Federal Occupational Health. The role is based in College Park, Maryland or Rockville, Maryland.

Service Operations
  1. Instruct regularly scheduled group fitness classes, including:
  • Mind/body classes (e.g., Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi)
  • Specialty classes (e.g., Cycle, Zumba, Les Mills formats)
  • General classes focusing on strength, cardiovascular health, or core fitness
  • Adapt instruction for various intensity levels and skill levels.
  • Administrative Responsibilities
    • Start classes on time; arrive early to set up equipment and ensure connectivity for virtual classes.
    • Maintain a professional appearance and environment.
    • Notify managers of substitutions and report attendance as required.
    • Assist with safety incident reports when necessary.
    Customer Service
    • Manage complaints professionally and escalate concerns appropriately.
    Required Skills
    • Proficiency in group fitness instruction.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    Required Experience
    • National certification in group fitness for general classes.
    • Additional certification in specialty formats preferred.
    • At least 1 year of experience in group fitness instruction for specialty formats preferred.
    • Current CPR/AED certification for on-site classes.
