The Division of Student Affairs advances the educational mission of the university through resources and experiences outside the classroom that prepare our students for lifelong success. The Fitness Instructor is responsible for guiding group fitness classes that vary in format and levels. Must hold a valid certification in Pilates, Pilates Reformer, Pilates Chair, Yoga, and/or Intermediate/Advanced Training Methodology.# **Job Description****Primary Duties & Responsibilities:*** Provides fitness instruction at assigned facility.* Promotes knowledge of proper group fitness components, i.e., warm up, aerobic exercise, flexibility, cool down, proper form and alignment, etc.* Motivates and instructs participants through exercises and routines.* Prepares workouts/choreography for fitness classes.* Serves as an advocate for fitness and healthy lifestyles at WashU.* Performs other duties as assigned. **Working Conditions:**Job Location/Working Conditions* Ability to travel to various on- and off-campus locations* Availability to work both weekday and weekend shifts Physical Effort* Typically standing or walking* Typically bending, crouching, stoopingThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to this classification.
