Job description

The City of Northglenn is seeking a highly qualified, energetic, and motivated Group Fitness Instructor to join our growing team. Instructors are responsible for leading safe and effective group fitness classes for community members. We are looking for instructors who can teach Les Mills BODYPUMP.


Availability: Must be available to work weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays. Teaches approximately 2-3 classes a week.


Responsibilities:

  1. Instruct participants on effective workout methods; explain proper techniques, demonstrate exercises; identify different muscle groups, and teach appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles.
  2. Provide exercise modifications and progressions for diverse participants with varying skills and fitness levels.
  3. Ability to uniquely motivate and build rapport with class participants to provide a safe and welcoming environment.
  4. Complete all paperwork in a timely manner, including timesheets, monthly class attendance, calendar planning, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience leading group fitness for at least 1 year is required.
  2. Nationally Accredited Group Fitness Certification required: ACE, NASM, ISSA, NCSF and/or Nationally Recognized Specialty Certification deemed appropriate for the class format.
  3. Must maintain current CPR/1st Aid and AED certifications.
  4. Must be able to perform a variety of physical activities including bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time.
  5. Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Additional Information:

Selected candidate will be required to complete and pass a background investigation, physical and drug test prior to employment.


Salary: Certified Instructor Starting Salary $22.47, Full Range $22.47 - $29.21.
