Job summary

The YMCA of South Alabama is seeking a Part Time Fitness Floor Staff at Bounds Family YMCA in Daphne, AL 36526. The role focuses on creating a safe, welcoming wellness environment while providing basic fitness assistance and guiding members on equipment use.

Responsibilities include greeting members, monitoring the floor, assisting with questions, maintaining cleanliness, supporting emergencies, promoting wellness programs, and keeping logs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Previous fitness, wellness, or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic fitness principles and equipment usage.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).

Position Summary

This role provides basic fitness assistance, ensures proper use of equipment, supports member engagement, and promotes YMCA wellness programs while upholding the YMCA core values ofCaring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

• Flexible availability required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to demonstrate basic fitness movements
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
