Job summary

Skagit Valley Family YMCA Mount Vernon is seeking enthusiastic part-time staff to maintain a safe, clean fitness floor and provide member service on weekend shifts. Responsibilities include guiding equipment use, leading orientations, and promoting wellness programs.

Ideal candidates are adaptable, customer-focused, and capable of independent decision-making. CPR/AED within 30 days is preferred, with opportunities for growth and a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Be present and visible on the fitness floor.
• Help members with equipment use and provide orientations.
• Clean equipment and exercise areas, stretch areas, track, and hallways.
• Organize and put away equipment; report damaged items.
• Stock towels, cleaning supplies, etc.
• Open and/or close the fitness center.
• Promote fitness events, challenges, classes, and programs.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and in-services.
• Maintain knowledge of fitness trends to provide info and training.
• Enforce gym etiquette and YMCA policies.
• Respond to emergencies per YMCA procedures.
• Responsible for your shift and coverage if needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Seeking enthusiastic responsible staff to help provide a safe, clean and functional fitness floor for YMCA members and guests. Provides demonstrations, answers general questions, ensures safety, and upholds YMCA policies. Creates an exceptional customer service experience for all members and guests. Promotes member wellness and member programs. Currently hiring for weekend shifts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Be always present and visible on the fitness floor.
• Help members with general equipment useand provide orientations as needed.
• Cleaning of equipment and exercise areas, stretch areas, track, and hallways.
• Organize and put away equipment, report damaged equipment and pull damaged items as appropriate.
• Stocking towels, cleaning solution, etc.
• Opening and/or closing the fitness center
• Promote fitness related events, challenges, classes, and programs to members
• Participate in mandatory staff meetings and in-services
• Maintain working knowledge of fitness industry and YMCA trends to provide effective information and training to members
• Enforce gym etiquette and policies
• Be able to respond and follow YMCA policies and procedures in emergency situations
• Responsible for your shift – responsible for getting coverage if needed

This is a part-time position, hours may vary.
