Job summary

HealthFitness, a trusted fitness partner, seeks a Fitness Floor Attendant for our corporate center in Durham, NC. This on-call role involves supervising the floor, assisting members, and maintaining a clean, safe facility.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with a High School Diploma or GED, and CPR/AED & First Aid certifications before start date. Prior fitness and customer service experience is preferred; basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are a plus. Wage range is $15–$17 per hour.

• Prior fitness and customer service experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with participants and monitors equipment and participant safety.
• Welcomes members by greeting, answering questions, responding to requests at the front desk and inputting data into the membership system.
• Performs facility maintenance and ensures the facility, equipment and locker rooms are clean and stocked.
• Understand and execute Emergency Medical Procedures throughout the facility.

Whether you're beginning your fitness career or looking to build your experience, this role offers the chance to work alongside industry professionals in a supportive and dynamic environment.Hours: On-call/substitute working on an as needed basis when regular staff members are unavailable.Responsible for providing exercise floor supervision and interacting with members and program participants within the fitness center.Key AccountabilitiesInteracts with participants and monitors equipment and participant safety.Welcomes members by greeting, answering questions, responding to requests while at front desk and input data into membership system.Performs facility maintenance responsibilities; ensures facility, equipment and locker rooms are clean and always stocked.Understand and execute the Emergency Medical Procedures throughout the facility.Demonstrate and instruct on the proper use of exercise equipment.Minimum RequirementsMust be 18 years or older.High School Diploma or GED required.Adult CPR/AED & First Aid certifications from the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, or the American Safety & Health Institute will be required prior to start date.Prior fitness and customer service experience strongly preferred.Computer application knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) strongly preferred.Physical demands require having the ability to lift up to 40 lb. weights for restacking.Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity.Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test. The compensation range for this role is $15 - $17 per hour. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
