Job summary

HealthFitness is seeking a dependable Fitness Floor Attendant to join our team at a premier corporate fitness center in Washington, DC. You will create a welcoming atmosphere, supervise the exercise floor, assist members with general needs and support daily operations to ensure a safe, engaging experience.

This role offers a flexible schedule with shifts during facility hours and opportunities to cover at other HealthFitness sites throughout the DC metro area. CPR/First Aid required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR/First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Prior fitness and customer service experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lb.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with participants and monitors equipment and safety.
• Welcomes members by greeting, answering questions, responding to requests at front desk and input data into membership system.
• Performs facility maintenance responsibilities; ensures facility, equipment and locker rooms are clean and always stocked.
• Understand and execute the Emergency Medical Procedures throughout the facility.
• Demonstrate and instruct on the proper use of exercise equipment.

Looking for a flexible opportunity to support others on their wellness journey while staying connected to a dynamic fitness environment? HealthFitness is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Fitness Floor Attendant to join our team at a premier corporate fitness center in Washington, DC .

In this role, you'll help create an exceptional member experience by providing a welcoming atmosphere, maintaining a safe and organized fitness floor, assisting members with general fitness center needs, and supporting daily operations. As a valued member of the team, you'll play an important role in fostering a positive and engaging environment where members can achieve their health and wellness goals.

This position is ideal for individuals seeking a flexible schedule, as shifts are available on an as-needed basis during facility operating hours of 5:30AM to 8:00PM. Additionally, there may be opportunities to earn extra income by providing coverage at other HealthFitness-managed sites throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area!

Responsible for providing exercise floor supervision and interacting with members and program participants within the fitness center.

Key Accountabilities

• Understand and execute the Emergency Medical Procedures throughout the facility.
• Demonstrate and instruct on the proper use of exercise equipment.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Adult CPR/AED certifications from the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, or the American Safety & Health Institute will be required. First Aid certification will be required within first 30 days of hire.
• Prior fitness and customer service experience strongly preferred.
• Computer application knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) strongly preferred.
• Physical demands require having the ability to lift up to 40 lb. weights for restacking.
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity.

Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test. The compensation range for this role is $17/hr - $19/hr. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
