Job summary

The J is seeking a Fitness Desk Attendant at our Olathe, KS facility. You will greet members and guests, explain and enroll them in programs, and help maintain a welcoming, safe environment.

This part-time role (approximately 10–20 hours per week) requires friendly, customer-focused individuals with basic computer skills, a high school diploma, and CPR/First Aid within 90 days. Prior customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests to ensure accurate counts and a welcoming environment
• Explain, sell and process program registrations accurately via in-person or phone interactions
• Handle complaints professionally to leave members satisfied
• Maintain locker rooms and Fitness and Sports lobby, including racquetball courts and kinesis studio
• Enforce rules for the Fitness and Sports Department and desk policies
• Operate the computer system for check-in, program registration, series sales and scheduler

Description

The Fitness Desk Attendant greets members and guests at the Member Experience Desk while handling day-to-day responsibilities for ongoing programs and activities. The Member Experience Desk team works to enhance the member experience by creating a welcoming environment in which J Members and guests obtain knowledgeable information about all J programs.

Schedule

• Scheduled approximately 10-20 hours per week and includes opportunities for early morning, daytime, evening, and/or weekend shifts.

Essential Functions

• Greets all J Members and guests to ensure accurate counts of users of the facility and create a safe environment by knowing the users of the facility
• Has a clear understanding of all programs that the J offers and can explain, sell and charge the Member/participant accurately via face to face or over the phone
• Handle all complaints/comments in a professional and courteous manner, leaving the Member/guest satisfied with the answer
• Create a safe and clean environment by maintaining all locker rooms and Fitness and Sports lobby, including racquetball courts and kinesis studio
• Understand and enforces rules and regulations for the Fitness and Sports Department. This includes both desk policies and facility policies
• Comprehends the computer system and knows how to facilitate the following programs: check-in, program registration, series sale and scheduler

Requirements

• A minimum of one year experience in the customer service field
• First aid/CPR/AED certified within the first 90 days of employment
