JOB DESCRIPTION

If you’re a committed fitness professional who wants to inspire others to work hard and achieve their best, Orangetheory Fitness is looking for Fitness Coaches to lead our science‑backed, technology‑tracked workouts. We need coaches who make members feel welcome and empower them to stay motivated long after the studio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and motivate members through pre‑defined workouts
• Help members set and achieve goals
• Ensure members use correct form and offer corrections when needed
• Understand the science behind heart‑rate‑focused training programs and stay aware of industry developments
• Be a team player and immerse yourself in studio culture
• Coaching availability: minimum 8 classes per week

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Hold and maintain a current fitness certification from an Orangetheory‑approved education company (ACE, NASM, AFAA, NSCA, ACSM); current AED/CPR certificate; 10+ hours per year in continuing education units outside the OTF curriculum
• Knowledge + Experience: Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics; functional understanding of heart‑rate‑based training; 2 years of experience as a group or individual personal trainer preferred; Microsoft Office and Outlook a plus
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills; ability to multi‑task; excellent customer service; team player mindset

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands of this role include standing for the duration of each 60‑minute class, leading and instructing members, demonstrating exercises with equipment such as Bosu trainers, medicine balls, dumbbells, TRX, and mini bands. Occasionally lifting or moving up to 80 pounds is required. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
