Job summary

The City of Federal Way is seeking a part-time Fitness Attendant at the Federal Way Community Center. This role supports membership services by creating a welcoming, clean, safe, and engaging exercise environment.

You will orient new members to facilities, lead tours, and help members explore group fitness and personal training options. Evening and weekend availability is required as hours are up to 17.5 per week.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to take initiative and troubleshoot problems independently.
• National Personal Training Certification.
• Current First Aid, CPR and AED cards required.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of entire second floor, fitness area and equipment.
• Welcome and assist members, introduce them to staff and other members.
• Monitor appropriate usage and enforce rules.
• Provide facility tours for visitors.
• Orientate new pass holder to the fitness equipment and educate them on all offerings.
• Ensure the safety of pass holders by keeping facility organized and offering guidance on proper technique.
• Maintain an environment of teamwork with good communication and by having fun.
• Promote personal goal attainment for participants by asking about their goals and holding them accountable.
• Teach small group fitness programs may provide one on one personal training service outside of their scheduled shifts.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
